Rupert’s Happy Tail

When Rupert first came to us during the cold winter months, his future was uncertain. Rupert was found as a stray on the streets—cold, alone, and struggling to survive. No one knew where he had come from or how long he had been out there, but what was clear was this: he needed help, and he needed it urgently.

Imagine the fear and loneliness he must have felt wandering through the winter chill. Where would he have been without the care and compassion that found him? Would he still have been lost and hoping for someone to notice? Or worse, would he have spent the harsh winter forgotten, lost in the cold?

Thankfully, Rupert found his way to us. He found safety. He found warmth. He found the love he so desperately needed. That winter, Rupert had a warm bed to rest in, a full belly, and the affection he’d longed for. He came to know what it meant to be truly cared for—something he may never have experienced before.

From the moment Rupert arrived, we knew he would find a forever home quickly. His bubbly personality, love of fuss, and typical spaniel energy meant it was impossible not to fall for him — as all the team here at Rain Rescue did. And we were right. It didn’t take long before a wonderful couple applied for him, met him at the centre, and fell in love the moment they saw him. We were so happy for Rupert—he and his new family were a perfect fit.

These days, he’s enjoying exciting canal boat adventures with his wonderful new family—soaking up the fresh air, taking in new sights, and making the most of every moment. From peaceful strolls along the towpath to keeping an eye on the ducks drifting by, Rupert is loving his new life. We’re bursting with pride to see this sweet boy thriving. Every wag, every cuddle, every little adventure—this is what second chances are all about. Here’s to many more tail-wagging days out, Rupert! 🧡
