Peace of mind for you, a loving future for your pet

Planning a Safe Future for Your Pet

Your pet is part of your family, and you want to know they will always be loved and cared for.

RAIN’s A Home for Tomorrow programme gives you peace of mind that your pet will have a safe and secure future if you are no longer here to care for them.

By joining the programme, you can make arrangements for your pet’s future and ensure they have somewhere safe to turn. If the time ever comes when your pet needs us, RAIN will be there. We’ll welcome them with kindness, compassion and loving care, providing the support they need while we carefully find them a secure and loving home.

By making arrangements for your pet’s future, you can have peace of mind knowing your beloved companion will always be cared for and protected.

Here’s how it works:

Make Your Wishes Known

We recommend updating your Will and speaking with your solicitor about your wishes for your pet’s future care.

Make sure your executor and those close to you are aware of your plans, so they know to contact RAIN if your pet ever needs our support.

Use Our A Home for Tomorrow Guide

Our A Home for Tomorrow Guide has been created to help you plan ahead.

It includes:

  • Suggested wording to discuss with your solicitor
  • Guidance on making your wishes clear

Frequently Asked Questions

We strongly recommend using the suggested wording in your Will, as this helps ensure your wishes are clearly recognised and that RAIN is formally included in your pet’s future care plans.

Your Will is the official document your Executor must refer to when managing your estate, so including clear instructions helps them understand your wishes and the arrangements you have made for your pet.

Yes. As long as your wishes are clearly written in your Will and you include RAIN’s full charity name and registered charity number, your Executor should have the information they need.

We always recommend speaking with your solicitor or legal adviser to make sure your wishes are clearly and correctly recorded.

If you would like your pets to be rehomed together, please let us know when registering them with A Home for Tomorrow.

While we cannot guarantee that this will always be possible, we will always do everything we can to consider your wishes and support your pets’ wellbeing.

If you welcome a new pet into your family, simply complete a new registration form to add them to A Home for Tomorrow.

This ensures we have the right information and can be there to support them if they ever need us.

No. Joining A Home for Tomorrow is completely free.

However, RAIN relies on the kindness of our supporters to continue rescuing and caring for animals. By considering a gift in your Will, you can help ensure we are here for pets who need us for generations to come.

Cats and dogs are the animals most commonly registered with A Home for Tomorrow, but we may also be able to support other companion animals.

Every situation is considered individually, and there may be rare circumstances where we are unable to provide care, such as where an animal’s needs cannot be safely supported by our team.

A Home for Tomorrow is there to provide reassurance if no other arrangements have been made for your pet.

If your circumstances change and you decide someone else will care for your pet, please let us know so we can update your details.

There is no maximum number of pets you can register.

If you would like to register more than five pets, please contact our team so we can discuss your requirements and make sure we have all the information needed to support them.

We will care for your pet for as long as they need us.

Every animal is different, and their wellbeing will always be our priority. Depending on their needs and personality, they may stay at RAIN or with one of our trusted foster carers while we find them a loving, suitable new home.

When you register your pet with A Home for Tomorrow, we will ask for details about your pet, including their health, personality, routine and any specific needs they may have.

We may also ask for veterinary records or request a vet check at the point of registration, to help us understand your pet’s needs and ensure we can provide the right care if they ever need our support.
