Hi… I’m Ziggy 🐾
I’m a handsome brindle Lurcher (about Greyhound size) with a gentle soul and a very big heart. I can be a sensitive boy, and I might feel a little nervous when I first meet new people or dogs — but if you give me a bit of time, patience, and a steady routine, I really do come out of my shell. I’ve made huge progress already!
On walks, I can sometimes feel unsure around certain dogs (usually the bigger ones), but I wear my muzzle happily like lots of us sighthounds do — it doesn’t bother me at all. The good news? I love treats, I’ve got great recall, and I know lots of clever commands like “come,” “wait,” “bed,” “sit,” and “paw.” I’ve even enjoyed weekly group walks before, playing and socialising off-lead with my doggy friends of all shapes and sizes once I knew them well.
At home, I’m a calm and gentle companion. I like being close to my people and will happily relax on the sofa nearby. One of my favourite ways to show affection is by leaning into you for a little fuss — and once I feel comfortable, I’m incredibly cuddly. I do get playful bursts of energy too! I love toys, tug games, and having a good zoom around outside. I’m very food motivated (snacks are the way to my heart!).
I’m fully house trained, can be left for 3–4 hours, travel brilliantly in the car, and I absolutely love long walks.
I have lived with children before, but I’d probably be happiest in a calm, child-free home, or with older children (13+) who understand that sometimes I just need a little space and kindness. I could live as the only dog and soak up all your love, or — with the right introductions — I might really benefit from living with a calm, confident female dog who can show me the ropes.
Because of my sighthound instincts, I’ll need a cat-free home too.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a gentle heart and a playful streak, I might just be your perfect match. 💛
