A Better Future for Bert & Ernie
Bert and Ernie are two lovable pygmy goat brothers who became some of the very first animal residents to join RAIN in 2026. Full of mischief, curiosity and charm, these inseparable brothers have quickly become favourites with visitors.
Their Story
Bert and Ernie’s story began when they were bought as a gift. Sadly, like many animals, their owners soon realised they couldn’t provide the space and specialist care that growing goats need. Animals are never toys or surprise presents—they are a lifelong commitment that deserves careful thought.
At just five months old, the brothers had already experienced a difficult start to life. They were living together in a very small back garden with little room to run, climb or explore. As naturally adventurous goats, they regularly escaped in search of somewhere more exciting, eventually leading to the difficult decision that they needed a better home.
That’s when RAIN stepped in.
Living Their Best Life
Today, Bert and Ernie have all the space they need to do what goats do best. They spend their days grazing, climbing, playing together and greeting everyone who visits with their cheeky personalities. Watching them thrive is a wonderful reminder of how the right environment can completely transform an animal’s life.
As brothers, Bert and Ernie share a close bond and love exploring their home side by side. Whether they’re climbing, grazing or investigating something new, they’re rarely far apart.
