foster a dog
Fostering a Rain Rescue dog is one of the most valuable and rewarding ways to support the dogs in our care.
We currently don’t have any dogs available to foster.
What’s involved?
By fostering a Rain Rescue dog, you are providing a loving, temporary residence for a vulnerable dog that is going through a big life transition. As an alternative to kennel life, the stability and comfort of your home allows a rescue dog the opportunity to adapt and start enjoying life’s little luxuries. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to see how your foster dog will behave in a domestic environment, so that we can confidently find them a permanet home most suited to their needs.
We often have ex-racing Greyhounds in our care, and they need help adjusting to life away from kennels. They need a home with no other cats or dogs, but may accept another Greyhound. We cannot guarantee how a dog will behave in a home, and therefore seek foster homes without children under 10 years old.
What’s involved?
- Looking after a dog in your home until their permanent loving home is found
- Caring for their basic, medical and behavioural needs
- Taking the dog to and from vet appointments
- Taking the dog to and from viewing appointments
