A Pub at the Heart of the Community — Supporting Rescue, Year After Year
The Lord Reresby isn’t just a brilliant local pub — they’re a true hero to our rescue animals.
Year after year, Tom and his family have gone above and beyond to support Rain Rescue, raising thousands of pounds to help dogs and cats in need of safety, care, and second chances. Their ongoing commitment means more animals fed, treated, and loved when they need it most.
In 2025 alone, The Lord Reresby raised an incredible £3,328.36 for our rescue animals through their amazing Rebo Fest — a festival that brings the community together while changing lives.
We are endlessly grateful to Tom and his family for their passion, generosity, and continued support. It’s supporters like them who make everything we do possible, and we’re so proud to have The Lord Reresby as part of the Rain Rescue family
Huge congratulations and a massive thank you to Gill and Eric!
They faced the ultimate challenge – a skydiving jump from 15,000 feet – all to support the animals at Rain Rescue.
Eric, who adopted one of our lurcher puppies, Pumpkin, wanted to give back after seeing first-hand the difference Rain Rescue makes. Pumpkin’s mum had been abandoned while pregnant, and luckily gave birth safely after arriving at the rescue – we dread to think what would have happened if she hadn’t been found in time. Moved by their story, Eric and Gill took on this extraordinary challenge to raise funds and make a real difference for animals in need.
Their courage and determination paid off, raising an incredible £1,175 for our rescue animals. We are deeply grateful for their generosity and support – their commitment is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when compassion meets action.
Feeling inspired? The adventure doesn’t stop here… If you’d like to take on a skydive and help Rain Rescue, email fundraising@rainrescue.co.uk to register your interest.
Fundraising Heroes: Helen & Cam’s Boxing Day Dip for Billy
On Boxing Day 2025, while many of us were wrapped up warm with leftover turkey and a cuppa, Helen and Cam were doing something truly extraordinary — stepping into the icy sea at Whitby for the annual Boxing Day Dip, all in support of Rain Rescue.
Taking on the freezing cold is brave enough, but this challenge meant even more to Helen and Cam. They fundraised in loving memory of their beautiful boy Billy, who sadly passed away in August. The beach was Billy’s favourite place, making this seaside challenge a heartfelt tribute to a dog who was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
Helen openly admits that the cold — and the sea — are right at the top of her list of scary things, but they faced their fears head-on. As Helen put it, rain was worth overcoming both of those for!
Thanks to their courage, determination, and a lot of festive spirit, Helen and Cam raised an incredible £255. Every penny will help provide food, warmth, veterinary care, and love to the dogs and cats currently being cared for at Rain Rescue.
We are so grateful to Helen and Cam, and to everyone who donated so generously. Your kindness is making a real difference to animals who need a second chance — and we know Billy would be incredibly proud.
