This Christmas… it doesn’t seem to stop. Not for Rain Rescue.
A few days ago, a local vet reached out to us. A stray dog had been brought in — painfully thin, freezing cold, and with a leg so badly injured it couldn’t be saved.
We can’t bear to imagine the life she had been living… the fear. The hunger. The loneliness. The pain. Walking the cold streets alone… with no one to comfort her, no warm bed, no food.
That stray is Peaches — a two-year-old Saluki with eyes full of hope, and a heart that has every reason not to trust… but still does.
Thanks to an incredible veterinary team who didn’t hesitate to act — and even covered her emergency surgery themselves — Peaches now has a chance. She is safe. She is loved. She is with us. Peaches will be safe this Christmas.
And despite everything, Peaches is still the sweetest girl — gentle, friendly, and doing amazingly well on her three legs. Our team has adored her from the moment she arrived.
But Peaches is heartbreakingly underweight. Now that her leg has been treated, the real healing begins — helping her gain strength, putting weight back on, nourishing her body, and showing her the comfort she’s been denied for far too long.
Caring for animals like Peaches places a huge strain on our small rescue team. Every extra meal… every vet check… every hour spent helping them recover — it all adds up. And with more animals arriving every week, our resources are stretched thinner than ever.
This Christmas, as you wrap gifts for your loved ones and fill your home with warmth, laughter, and festive treats… please spare a thought for animals like Peaches.
For them, the streets were cold, lonely, and full of fear. There were no presents, no cosy bed, no festive meal. We can’t change their past — but this year, with your help, they can finally know warmth, safety, love, and care.
